No longer available this is one of the original options when Howa Rifles first arrived here in the UK. The Thumbhole version was a more popular choice but personally I much prefer this ‘standard’ stock format. Barrel channel is cut out to accept a Heavy / Varmint profile barrel so it will accept either that or a standard Sporting weight barrel and action. Obviously that leaves a much greater gap but certainly zero possible problem from the barrel not being free floating. All of these stocks are now replaced by the GRS Laminate options.
FULLY Ventilated Forend to the bottom and sides to assist with rapid barrel cooling. Palm Swell grip and original recoil pad. Partially Pillar bedded too so will, no doubt, only assist with accuracy.
This looks to be for a LONG ACTION calibre as the action screw centres are 7 ¼” (185mm).
Basically an as (or very possibly still) a BRAND NEW stock.
The ONLY detail to mention are three very small chips to the original varnish finish to the very top of the Raised Comb.
When you could still order and buy one of these there easily sold for £450 minimum. Anyone who wants one and this is a BARGAIN.
