BRAND-NEW Heavy Barrelled .308 Bolt Action Howa 1500 Target / Varmint Rifle. 24” (610mm) Heavy Profile Barrel, factory screw cut at 5/8” x 24 UNeF. Ready for a suitable Sound Moderator. NOT even sure if anything over 24” is available now? However, I DO have a 26” VERY CLEAN pre-used example in stock at time of listing.
NO DOUBT both equally as capable at whatever range. However, some DO prefer / want that extra couple of inches. (Don’t we all)!?
Currently offered in a Green and Black MDT ‘Field Stock’ with current length / trigger pull at 13 ¾” (350mm). This DOES come supplied with 3 additional ¼” (6mm) Butt Pad Extension pieces. Plus, extra length screws etc. As such this could easily pack out to 14 ½” (367mm) and beyond. Overall length as pictured measures 44 1/8” (1120mm) and tips scales at 9 Lb 5 ½ oz (4.237 Kg).
The Stock with Textured Black Grip areas, Thumb cut out and Height Adjustable Cheek Rest. This IS also 100% Ambidextrous. NO, the Locking Bolt does not swap over. However, all that realistically touched this when mounted in the left shoulder is my chin. Even then, only if I ‘CLAMP’ my head to it. Certainly nothing to inhibit or spoil using this from that side / shoulder.
Ventilated Forend for faster barrel cooling too. Plus, Sling Stud Points already fitted.
Complete with matching MDT Detachable Magazine and Trigger Guard Housing. Also, the High-Capacity 10 Round Magazine. More can EASILY be ordered and supplied if required.
The more modern and highly thought of Standard Howa Fully Adjustable Trigger. NOT that there ever was anything particularly bad with the older versions in my opinion.
That IS another matter and of little to zero interest to you as an end user. However, in ALL the years I have sold Howa rifles I have only ever had two complaints about accuracy / operation.
BOTH Totally unfounded and incorrect. One from someone who had not tightened / mounted his scope correctly. That WAS fitted by me whilst here collecting the rifle. However, he decided he would re-do it / mess about with it himself. That was sorted out in under 30 minutes. The second from a customer who thought ‘factory’ ammunition was the same as his mate’s home loads. They were produced for a rifle with a much bigger chamber, so the bolt handle was particularly stiff to lock down. Obviously, fire formed to one chamber and only neck sized when re-loaded.
Base, Rings, Nikko Sterling 3-12×56 (even 62 if in stock) Diamond 30mm Tube, RCC Moderator and thread protector. Along with a Buffalo River Rifle Slip.
For that matter, just about any other spec. / set up you might prefer. NV Night Vision unit / Thermal etc. Happy to offer up PRACTICAL options / suggestions and sort everything out. Obviously final spec. dictates final overall price.
