Fantastic Condition .357 Mag – .38 SPL Calibre Under-Lever ‘Golden Big Boy’ Henry Sporting Arms Rifle. A bit of a mouthful but, at the exact same time ‘A BIT OF A GUN’ too.
19 7/8” (505mm) HEAVY Octagonal Barrel with a 7/8” (22mm) Diameter, parallel from the muzzle back. Stock pull is 13 ½” (370mm) to the shortest point on the Concave Brass Butt Plate. Bringing in an OAL of 38 ¼” (972mm) and Bare Weight at 8 Lbs 6 oz (3.798 Kg). Its actually lighter in the shoulder than it first appears.
Calibre Details Engraved to the top R/H Slope of the Octagon chamber area with Manufacturer Detail and Address to the Left. Both Inlayed / Highlighted in Brass to match the Action and Stock Fittings. Original Adjustable Open / Iron Sights and NO screw holes for any rail or bases. It’s a rifle DESIGNED to be used over traditional iron sights so your eyes DO need to be up to the task. Alternatively there is no REAL reason why a scope could not actually be fitted with work required done etc.
A Strong Straight and VERY Tight Grain Pattern. …. The tree has been a seriously slow grower with annual rings as tight as these. That’s actually a GOOD thing as its generally a sign of quality timber.
The ENTIRE Rifle in near 100% unmarked condition in REAL terms. As above, polished brash needs little more than looking at to show a mark! Those blemishes there are on the woodwork will lift with the steam form a half decent brew.
The action is Wonderfully Smooth, SOLID and Slick with Zero swagger to the cocking lever even fully open. For a pre-used gun this too close to as new as you are EVER likely to discover.
