Direct Copy of the Original Lee Enfield De Lisle .45 ACP Bolt Action Commando Carbine Rifle. Used World Wide by British Commando’s and other Special Forces on Covert Raid and Missions. Built on an Original Lee Enfield No4 WW11 Action. Re-barrelled with a 16 3/8” (415mm) Original Marlin Firearms of New Haven Micro Groove .45 ACP barrel. About THE BEST option out there for this calibre as their Under-Lever Rifles attest to. Screw Cut to accept the FULL LENGTH Sleeve Over Sound Moderator. That gives an O/A Barrel + Mod length of 21 7/8” (555mm). Stock offers up a trigger pull at 13 5/8” (345mm) combining to an Overall Max of 41 1/8” (1045mm). Scales register a surprisingly light weight considering what it is of only 8 lbs 9 ½ oz (3.899 Kg).
No open sights fitted as these were made to fit a rifle scope too given now range shooting etc. It comes complete with its short purpose made Tactical Picatiny Scope Rail and (currently) standard .303 magazine. As such SINGLE ROUND LOADING ONLY at present. I AM trying to source a converted magazine but its looking likely I will have to sort this out myself.
The Side Action Flat on this rifle with various authentic original stamps; No1 MK1/3 (F) FTR, 5No4 MK1* plus Serial Number which also shows to the Action Strap / Band. This example with a Traditional Lee Enfield Butt Stock. It has, at some point, been fitted with a Sniper Raised Comb piece as two screw holes present. Other than that it does have some decent Grain Pattern and Colour Contrast. As such quite a decent GOOD LOOKING rifle.
A shame its not an ACTUAL Original in this condition. However, one of those will command a price WELL outside most people’s budget today. These are not exactly ‘pennies’ but well worth the investment for any even half way serious Enfield enthusiast / collector.
