A BEAUTIFUL Piece of Military History and Certainly a COLLECTORS PIECE. At the same time something to Take out, USE and Fully Enjoy. It’s also a GREAT Calibre, Always has been and even today the latest ‘variants’ are not that much (supposedly) improved.

Metal work is in SUPERB, near Immaculate / As NEW condition. Colour Case Hardening to the rear barrel band tang and back of the open sight is still 95+% intact.

The Rear Sight itself is Graduated from 300 to 600 meters in 100 increments and corresponds to Service Ammunition performances. It also Flips Up and Forms a Ladder Sight continuing from 700 through to 2000 meters. ALSO on this example the site has been fitted with a ‘METALLVERKEN. VASTER S (?) SV.PAT.90944 Micro Adjustable Insert.

DETAIL:

Not entirely sure what the timber is but usually Scandinavian Birch. Whatever this is its quite an Exceptionally Pretty Example for a military weapon. Just as the metal work this too is in matching IMMACULATE condition. (No reason to think it is all not original too).

Some Very Nice Colour, Decorative Grain Pattern and Contrast. All together a HIGHLY Decorative example is simply Stunning condition.

Brass Disc inset flush to the R/H face of the butt and detailed ‘Torpedom Str Overslag on the lower half. 2345 and 901 in the main segment and 23 in the smaller to the top.

HAPPILY accept additional ACCURATE information on any and all the details posted. NO DOUBT there are more than a few far more knowledgeable people out there on these rifles than I.

This REALLY IS an exceptional piece. I have NO DOUBT if you want one of these iconic rifles this will become a seriously treasured piece.

As it is I also have an example of a matching Bayonet. That has been here for several years and sadly the numbers do not match up. Quite frankly if they had I would have been picking 6 more and buying a lottery ticket! SOME coincidence if they had matched. It can stay with the rifle as it does finish it off for what it is.
