.22 Rim Fire Single Shot Martini Action Benchrest Target Rifle from BSA Birmingham, England.
These rifles are generally STILL every bit as accurate as when purchased brand new. Most will also STILL outshoot the majority of people pulling a trigger. As in they are probably still more accurate than most are capable of achieving.
I DID take this in with a view to spares. However, in reality I have sufficient already and it IS in GREAT condition. As such I figure best to list it for sale. Give someone chance of a FINE example of a piece of British Gun Making History. Apart from anything else there IS a small frenzy going on at the minute. Certainly something of a surge for old / vintage target rifles in competition.
All Original LONG 29” (737mm) Heavy Target Barrel. Stock measures to a trigger pull of 14 ½” (367mm). The trigger (as usual) is a DELIGHT. Overall measurements give a total length of 44 ¾” (1137mm) and a pictured weight at 10 lbs 2 oz. (4.591 Kg). That INCLUDES the Matching and Original Parker Hale Rear PH 7A Dioptre Target Sight and FS22 Front Element Holder. Also fitted with the double HEAVY Duty Target Sling Stud Points along with the Brass Element Holder Screw on Cup. WITH (unusually) various additional front elements (7 in total INC. the one fitted).
Strong Straight Grained Woodwork with a little colour contrast to the lower area of the stock. Action, as always, Fully Stamped up with the makers ‘Piled Rifles’ Company logo. Even the original Branded Butt Place is still in place and in one piece. You can even have the Hand Stop pictured.
Given prices for the front and rear dioptre pieces as well as other accessories detailed they make the rifle CHEAP. As said at the beginning I COULD have simply stripped a perfectly nice and GOOD old rifle down. Certainly made more money doing so but didn’t. That’s because its STILL got a LOT of GREAT SHOOTING left in it. All it needs is someone to take advantage.
