Description

BROWNING .30R OVER AND UNDER DOUBLE RIFLE.

Beautiful, Calibre .30R Blaser, Over and Under Model CCS 525 Double Rifle from Browning. Just out of interest these guns are now ONLY available via the Browning Custom Shop in Belgium. They also have a STARTING price of £16,950.00.

YES £50 short of £17K! Actually VERY LIKELY a lot more now given 2024 prices will be here VERY soon / already are (depending on when you read this)!

There is also a minimum 18 to 24 month wait time to factor in.

THE RIFLE SPEC:

22 1/8” (562mm) Twin Over and Under Barrels with built in adjustment to put both to the same point of impact. Open Iron / V Rear sight with matching Red High Vis Illuminated Front Bead. The Rear Sight Base also incorporating a Pivot on / off recess and rear dovetail. Matching Browning Mounts are available to order and suit a scope of your choice.

The Ever Classic 525 Action is Bright Finished with near complete Fine Scroll Work Engravings surrounding the left and right cartouches. Red Stag and Roe Buck respectively with a Wild Boar to the bottom.

Single Selective Gold Washed Trigger for choice of first barrel.

Stock Pull is 14 5/8” (372mm) and Overall the Rifle measures a Very Compact and Very Fast Handling 39 ¾”. (1010mm). Weight is a Straight 8 lbs dead as pictured (3.62 Kg).

Guessing at Grade 5 Woodwork. Not entirely sure if they came in anything less. Highly Decorative with Excellent Grain Pattern, Colour Contrast and Heavy Tiger Stripe Cross Grain Highlights. Bavarian Hogs Back profile / style finished in Extra Fine Hand Cut Fox / Diamond Pattern Chequering. ALWAYS a nice and High Class way to complete a Top Gun.

Absolute minimal evidence of much use at all so far. The trigger shows zero sign of wear and Gold Wash never takes that much before it shows signs of use. Equally the top lever is still offset to the right when the gun is closed. Another feature that is generally only seen on relatively brand new guns. Again something that settles in to its central position pretty quickly once it gets some use. Other than a couple of Very Minimal and Light blemishes the gun is just about As New condition. The steam from a couple of cups of tea would lift them!

THE CALIBRE:

The 30R Blaser (7.62 x 68mm) is a relatively new calibre developed 30 years ago in 1991. It ‘thumps out’ a .30 cal. 150 grn projectile circa 3100 ft / sec with 3160 ft / lbs of energy. One of its other main positives is that it was not based on a military cartridge. As such allowed in to many countries where any current and even obsolete military calibres were restricted.

Yes, an unusual option for the UK but factory ammunition IS still available. RWS manufacture a range of options as well as home loading possibilities.
