EXCELLENT Condition .270 Bolt Action Model VZ 24 Mauser 98 Action Rifle from BRNO Arms. VERY collectable. Date stamped for 1997 production from a time when both CZ and BRNO worked together. The Action is fully Stamped up with MOD 98 to the R/H front ring with Serial Number and Date Stamp to the left. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA, A.S, WITH VZ 24 below to the side section below front and rear action rings.
Original Rocker Style safety positioned to the back of the Bolt itself.
EXCEPTIONALLY Well Patterned and Highly Decorative 14 ¼” (362mm) Hogs Back Style Walnut Stock with Raised Cheek Rest. SUPERB Cross Grain ‘Tiger Stripe’ Highlights to an already Well Patterned Woodwork, finishing with a Schnabel Forend tip. A few VERY Minor marks that will easily lift out with a little steam. Personally I consider these add to a guns character and show it has seen some use rather than simply tucked away. Nothing much at all and, as detailed, reasonably easily fixed anyway.
22” (560mm) Original length barrel. An overall measurement of 43 1/8” (1095mm). With a bare weight, as pictured, at 7 ½ Lbs (3.4 Kg) Dead. Sadly the original open sights are missing with both ramps / mounts still in place. Not impossible to replace and return back to original though I do not have anything suitable readily available. The front bead sliding into a dovetail in line with the bore. Rear V / leaf sight appears to screw into a parallel and not dovetailed cross slot. Traditional Mauser Style ‘fixed but removable’ Magazine Floor plate and trigger guard.
Take a look on line at a company in France who specialise in these rifles. Dorleac and Dorleac. At the minute it appears they have little available. Yes, they are all refurbished / refinished BUT the price FULLY reflects this. Have the same done to this rifle and even at this price it will still be half of what it would cost you there.
