AYA 12g No 4 NONE EJECTOR 3” MAGNUM SIDE BY SIDE.

No4 Box Lock None Ejector 3” (75mm) Magnum Side by Side Shotgun from AYA.

**** NO NOT STEEL SHOT PROOFED OR APPROVED. NO FLEUR de LEIGHS so still ‘old school’.

**** HOWEVER DO PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!

On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.

RING for an update and keep checking the web site.

Anyway, back to the gun. Compact 24 1/8” (614mm) barrels with a Concave ¼” (6mm) Rib and the 3” (75mm) Magnum Chambers. Choking is cylinder and Cylinder which leads me to question if they have actually been shortened an inch or two? Either way it’s a nice compact Magnum Side by Side. A very handy gun for a hide etc. especially with the magnum capability. IF it has its also a very clean job with the sighting bead also re-fitted.

Stock pull measures to a long 15 ½” (395mm) and brings in an overall of 42” (1067mm). It’s also just about 100% straight so could easily work from either shoulder. As such I will detail as  ambidextrous. As with any shotgun you do need to try it into your shoulder to check. Scales tip at 7 Lbs 3 ½ oz (3.276 Kg).

Generally EXCELLENT condition with hardly a mark worth detailing. I am hard pushed to find anything! A Well Patterned Stock with a 1” (25mm) Black Recoil Pad and all Chequering still clean, crisp and well defined. These models also come with the wider ‘Beavertail’ Forend for added grip surface. The action retaining near 100% of its original Colour Case Hardening Finish and, as usual, Striker Disc Plates to the Face. Just makes firing pin replacement so much easier (with the right tool). This is a feature usually only found on the highest quality and matching expense guns. Double trigger and A Pistol Grip with Black cap fitted.
