.22 Rim Fire Anschutz Model 1420 Bolt Action Rifle.
NOW quite a rare little gun from this legendary manufacturer. The 1420 was the ‘expensive’ option for a .22 rim fire hunting rifle in its day, even from Anschutz. Unlike the basic models this is built on the same action as the Match 54 TARGET rifles.
Low level flag safety, cocking indicator to the back of the bolt and two stage, none adjustable trigger. The original rear open sights are missing. That said, I will probably have a set in the workshop if you are not fitting a scope. (How they usually get lost)!
22 3/4” (580mm) traditional Long Rifle (where the name .22LR originates from). Anyone wanting a GOOD example of such a rifle this could well suit. It also ‘bucks’ the modern day trend for short carbine versions. With the longer barrel this will hold better accuracy at longer range too. Pre-threaded to take a sound moderator already.
The 1420 model also comes with Higher Grade Walnut. This in a Semi Hogs Back 14 ¼” (363mm) figured stock with raised cheek piece. Weighs in as is at 6lbs 4oz (2.843Kg).
With the usual quality and legendary accuracy of Anschutz this should prove to be Mr. Bunnies worst nightmare!
