SUPER Light Weight 12g Over and Under None Ejector shotgun from Bretton in France.
These have EXTREMELY unusual actions. If you have never seen one you are more than welcome to call in and take a look. The barrels slide forward to open the action and allow loading / extraction. The lever detailed to the right side of the action opens and locks the slide.
I say LIGHT WEIGHT. Not quite as low as a second example here but try 5 lbs 1 oz. (2.309 Kg). The extra 4 oz. over the other gun in stock will be the recoil pad and slightly longer stock. Even so still very little over a bag of sugar in each hand. Especially when most over and under guns are at least half as much again. Barrels are 27 ¾” (715mm) multi-choke. To change these the ‘figure of 8’ barrel clamp does need to be loosened off / removed then refitted etc. once swapped out. The gun comes with the existing chokes which measure to approx. Imp. Cyl. and 1/4. They are detailed as L and LA set in a small circle.
The 14 7/8” (378mm) stock has a nice enough straight but strong grain pattern with some light colour contrast. It features a half or shallow Rounded Prince of Wales Grip big enough for a man’s hand but still small enough for someone smaller.. This has a plain Black finished lightweight alloy action with some nice scroll engraving featured.
IDEAL for a lady, youngster or smaller framed man. Ideal for anyone who simply NEEDS a lightweight gun. Obviously I would recommend using a similarly lightweight cartridge as the gun is not going to help absorb that much recoil. All in excellent condition throughout the gun comes in at overall length of 44” (1118mm).
Two of these guns came in from the same man at the same time! CERTAINLY something very unusual it will definitely get a few looks and questions when it comes out of a slip. Either are well worth the money for that aspect alone.
