Description
SHORT MAGAZINE LEE ENFIELD .303 BOLT ACTION SERVICE RIFLE.
Genuine Original 1942 dated Short Magazine Lee Enfield SMLE British Military .303 Service Rifle.
25 ¼” (642mm) Barrel set to a Stock Length / Trigger Pull of 13 ¼” (337mm). Overall length from the end of the bayonet lug measures 44 5/8” (1135mm) and tips scales at 9 Lb 9 oz (4.337 Kg). That WITH the Matching Webbing Sling Fitted.
The action itself Fully Stamped with Crown and GR (for King George). 1942 SHt L.E. III*. Assuming the Original Barrel at also stamped but with a 43. As such I can only assume this one was completed very early into 1943. Matching Serial Numbers throughout, Including the Bolt too. Still plenty of similar matched examples out there but they ARE getting harder to find.
As you might imagine, bolts DID get lost / swapped around etc. Sometimes still do even with no one shooting back!
The Original Battle Sight with Range Graduations from 200 out to 2000 Yard distances. Anything closer and it was basically just point in the general direction and fire. These are fitted with a push in release to allow sliding the peep hole to range quickly as well as a Micro Adjustment Wheel.
A MORE than fare condition example of a GENUINE piece of British WWII Military HISTORY. GREAT fun to shoot too.
The Beech Woodwork in excellent clean condition.

LAST BIT: The two groups showing were from other Enfield rifles with scopes fitted. I included the targets to SHOW the potential some of these rifles still have. NOT claiming this will perform as well but no REAL reason why it will not be close. Possibly better!
