Quite a Bonny Stock with a Good / Very Nice Grain Pattern and Colour Contrast. As usual though, the obligatory varnish finish that stands up to little more than staying in a cabinet. However, also as usual, Very easy to strip back and then re-finish. IF you want to end up with what WILL be a ‘Bit of a Stunner’ / Seriously Bonny Rifle. A traditional Oiled Finish ALWAYS brings out the very best timber has to offer. Schnabel Forend with sling stud points already fitted. Yes, as most pre-used rifles past a week or two old, there are a couple of marks. Some from ‘natural’ use. However, also one to each side of the Forend. Just behind / between the Checkering patterns. These APPEAR to be from some kind of vice / grip. Very possibly on a cleaning jig or similar. Something with way to narrow jaws to successfully hold a rifle! WHO knows? … Other than the PILLOCK who put them there! Perfectly good to simply use as it is. But IF that refinish went ahead any and all of the blemishes detailed should steam / lift back out.
