FOR SALE, TRUE LEFT-HANDED .243 SAUER 200 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
LEFT-HAND Bolt Action Sauer Model 200 Rifle in .243 Winchester. A Very Pretty Example and an EXTREMELY ACCURATE Rifle as well. This came in many years ago with the woodwork looking WAY past Tired. The barrel with Stilson Grips Jaw marks or similar. Pretty obvious the previous owner was something of a PILLOCK. Presumably tried to remove it without first dropping the locating lug on the middle action clamping screws.
Before I did anything the first ‘job’ was to test fire. With basic PPU 100Gr Soft Point Ammunition this gives sub ½” (MOA) at 100 yards plus.
Given that, I removed the grip / ‘teeth’ marks and had the barrel professionally refinished in Traditional Deep, Lustrous Gun Blue style. I also stripped back the woodwork and made ready for a refinish. From then it simply ended up tucked away in one of the workshop cabinets. Always seemed to be just too busy with other things to find the time to finish it. However, at long last, this has now been sympathetically done and the rifle once again ready to please.
As pictured, a Very Bonny Stock with Rosewood tip and grip cap. Raised Cheek Rest for Left-Handed mount and use. A Single Set / Hair Trigger and NOTHING to be afraid of. The ONLY thing you need to do is know how to disengage once set. On these rifles it could not be easier or simpler. Push the older style Vertically Engaged Safety Button to Safe and move the trigger back into its standard pull. Alternatively, simply lift the bolt handle and again, return the trigger to ‘normal’.
The beauty of these triggers is usually a marked improvement in accuracy. All that takes is a little practice.
Detachable Vertical Stack Magazine and Threaded ready to take a sound mod too.
As with all 200 and 202 models comes the option to inter change calibres. As such, extremely versatile. TOP quality German engineering and delightful rifles to own and shoot. I have a standard right hander in .308 with a couple of 6.5 barrels and all shoot extremely well.
Actual spec. is as follows: 21 ½” (546mm) Barrel, pre-screw cut a Standard ½” x 20 UNF. All ready to accept a suitable Sound Moderator with PLENTY usually in stock. Trigger / Stock Pull measures 14 5/8” (372mm) and Overall Length at 42 3/8” (1075mm). Scales offer up a bare weight of 7 Lb 12 ¼ oz (3.523 Kg).
