YET ANOTHER in from the same customer who simply enjoys trying different rifles! Read through a few adverts and you will pick up on any and all of his Trade-Ins. None do a lot and all are WELL looked after.
I sold him the Howa originally. However, the ONLY barrel option available at the time being a 20”. Plus, no confirmed timeline for new stock and 24” options to arrive. Impatience took over and he ordered the 20”. THEN got himself ‘wound up’. Other shooters were apparently getting higher velocities. By all of circa 200ft/sec! Even though no better accuracy being achieved at whatever ranges.
He then took the decision to drop it in with Valkyrie Rifles in Rotherham. They re-barrelled it with a 26 ¼” ‘AI’ option. That ‘secret’ screw cut 18x1mm Metric for a sound moderator. Complete with ‘invisible’ thread protector and 11-degree Target Crown.
Everything then away for a Dark Green Cerakote finish. That INCLUDES the 20 MOA Picatinny Rail showing too. Not sure if the after-market MDT XRS Stock Upgrade was also them too but makes zero real difference who. WITH Full MDT Metal Detachable Magazine Housing too. That’s another £515 for the stock alone.
Trigger / Stock length as showing measures 13” (330mm) but easily adjusted with packers. Current overall length is 45 5/8” (1160mm) and weighs in at something of a LUMP. At 11 Lb 15 oz (5.413 Kg), once this gets set up at the firing point it WILL stay where its put!
Anyway, after ALL of this. (Plus, mounts and long-range target scope that added in excess of £2000 plus). He THEN decided to get more into live quarry shooting and Deer Stalking. ‘Swapping’ this towards a 7×64 Brenneke straight pull.
I WILL also HAPPILY vouch for the rifle and its accuracy too.
ZERO reason why even a top shot will have anything but HAPPINESS using it. There are also a good number (Circa 300) live rounds available if picking up in person. Norma Brass with Scenar Heads.
