Something of a ‘Sleeper’ Model 202 Sauer Outback Bolt Action Rifle in .308. I all but ‘forgot’ about it since it came in. The customer in question advised by his doctor to cease shooting after damaging the vertebrae in his neck. Unintentional ‘Dismounting’ of a motor bike at speed is always something to avoid! Anyway, he ‘suffered’ on for a good number of years but, in the end had to decide. Keep shooting and end up paralyzed from the neck down early. OR stay mobile and functional for as long as possible. In the end sense won!
He brought in all his guns and somehow, I managed to overlook this one. I will guess considering swapping the Fluted Barrel with my own plain version. However, given timelines involved for a variation with my local licensing department, I simply did not bother!
A 22 1/8” (560mm), as stated, FLUTED barrel already screw cut a standard ½” x 20 UNF. These alone were / ARE a small fortune when compared to a standard profile. Pull measures to 14” (355mm) and brings in an O/A length of 42 1/8” (1070mm). Scales offer up a nice, lightweight 7 Lb 5 oz (3.332 Kg). Metal work finished in a Matt Black to match the Synthetic Stock.
It also features a FULLY Adjustable Single Set or Hair Trigger. As such, BEFORE you ‘panic’ please read on. The ONLY thing you need to learn is how to use one and they ARE generally EASY. For this rifle it is simply a case applying the Safety and / OR lifting the Bolt Knob. Then simply move the trigger back to its standard position and ‘start again’ with your shot.

Last and not least, DO remember these rifles have an interchangeable barrel system. I DO have a selection of other calibres available. Equally they do need to be on the same calibre category to match the bolt etc.
THAT IS WITH THE FLUTED BARREL INCLUDED. IF YOU WANT A CHEAPER OPTION I CAN SWAP THAT OUT FOR A PLAIN VERSION.
