HEAVY HITTING Classic 7mm Remington Magnum Bolt Action Rifle from Parker Hale and ALMOST As New. Just realized this has been ‘tucked away’ in a rack for way too long. It was sourced and purchased for a specific customer along with several other similar rifles. All Parker Hale and all the best I could find across a range of calibre’s. He wanted the best I could find for a collection to not only admire but also use. Apparently waiting for money to come in from ‘somewhere’. I forget if it was insurance or inheritance. Eventually he did turn up, failed to ‘declare’ who he was, played ‘silly’ and ended up asked to leave! All the other rifles are already sold and long gone. No real idea quite how I forgot about this one.
Original 23 ½” (597mm) Barrel still with its Open / Iron sights. Pull measures 14” (355mm) giving an Overall length of 44 5/8” (1133mm). Scales off up a bare weight of a straight 7 ½ Lb (3.403 Kg).
Standard format 1200 Deluxe version with Integral Hinged Floor Plate Magazine. (Impossible to lose even if crawling about over moorland. Unlike detachable options). Decorated with Embossed Scroll Pattern and Rams Head and Original finish still PERFECT. High Grade Walnut Stock with Raised Roll Over Cheek Rest, White Spacers and Rosewood Grip Cap and For End Tip.
A Strong Straight Grain with some Very Nice ‘Fiddle Back’ Cross Grain Highlights. Especially toward the back.
Also, a matching White ‘Diamond’ inlet Flush to the bottom of the Grip Cap too. Decorative Fox / Skip Cut Chequering to enhance and finish, along with Palm Swell. Offering up Excellent Grip. The Gold Wash to the Trigger also in what appears to be Unused Condition.
Bright finished bolt shaft and handle, Original, Adjustable Open sights even with the Front Bead Cover still there. There ARE a couple of Very Minor blemishes to the woodwork. However, consider the minimum age this can possibly be given when Parker Hale closed. It would very likely be a lot worse condition if sat on a shop shelf the entire time.
Parker Hale Rifles ARE quintessentially THE TRUE, CLASSIC ENGLISH made Sporting Rifles so Revered Worldwide. Yes, Mass produced in Birmingham but from a time when British Engineering was the envy of the World. No, not Bespoke, ‘BIG name’ rifles. Neither are they the price of such. However, for the ‘average fella’ certainly everything needed and often more. If you want new, by all means, spend the money needed. If pockets are not that deep OR you simply prefer an Older, more Traditional option it’s waiting. Ready to go. Original bases and rings in stock too or I can organise more modern options to suit.
