.25-06 Ruger M77 MK1 Heavy / Varmint barrelled ‘ Predator ‘ in Green and Brown Laminated stock. Timney Target Grade Fully Adjustable Trigger fitted along with a hinged door 3 round cartridge compartment to the butt.
I used to shoot this calibre myself and found it excellent. Bullet weight can go to 120 grn so 20% heavier than a .243 but with a .270 case behind it. Still feels like the .243 but produces a lump more velocity as well as energy. A GREAT flat shooting round for all species of deer as well as fox control.
Don’t believe all you read about barrels not lasting …. with today’s powders and a little care this calibre is no worse than any other.
Unsighted Original 24” (610mm) Heavy Varmint weight un-threaded barrel. This CAN easily be threaded ‘in house’ at a reduced rate when buying the gun. Pull to the Green / Brown Laminated stock measures 14 3/8″” (365mm) giving an overall length of 44 5/8” (1134mm).
Traditional Mauser action so YES, a ‘sloppy’ bolt but they are designed to work in any conditions. Add into that the ONLY thing that actually counts is the lock up of the bolt. That is what is critical on a rifle NOT how ‘slick’, smooth or nicely the bolt slides in and out. Weight of the bare rifle is 9 Lbs 7 oz (4.275 Kg). Get this set on target and it is staying put until you want to move it.
