Description

PUSKARNA .243 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.

Produced in the city of Kranj, in what is now Slovenia (formerly Yugoslavia). This is a sporting rifle from Gorenie Puskarna (excuse the English spelling)! That close to Austria hopefully some of the abundance of quality gun making in that region is included in this.

The company were apparently responsible for production of the MGV 176, a fully automatic .22 rim fire sub- machine gun assault rifle …. Looks an ‘evil little tool’ if you check it out on Youtube! As such, and given a distinct lack of any other information. All I can assume is that the company has branched out into the domestic sporting arms arena. As so many other famous brands have already done.

Anyway, this is just a standard and actually quite nicely finished light weight bolt action sporting rifle in .243 calibre. Built on a Mauser Style action. Cocking on opening and with a low level safety to the back of the bolt.  As such no issues with a low mounted scope.

A very neat swept down butter knife bolt handle. Another nice touch that gives the rifle just that little extra classy feel. 14 ½” reasonably well grained light weight / slender stock with Bavarian cheek piece finishes things off. The unthreaded 23 ½” barrel retaining the original open / iron sights.  This is a nice enough, though I appreciate little known rifle. BUT should make anyone a decent enough stalking companion for what is ‘small change’.
