MARLIN  .38 – .357 LEVER ACTION MODEL 1894CS RIFLE.

Another North Haven, Connecticut ORIGINAL ‘MARLIN’ Marlin .38 Special – .357 Magnum PRE-Gremlin Lever Action Rifle. No idea quite why but I have had a few of these come in recently and all in EXCELLENT Condition inside and out. This example one of the ‘Cleanest of Clean’ for a pre-owned gun.

18 ½” (470mm) All Original Barrel still with its Open Sights and no scope ever fitted by the look. Also featuring the Micro Grooved Barrel as opposed to the Balard rifling. Not entirely certain one will out-perform the other but for ‘purists’ they like to know. Grub screws to the scope base mounting holes are all still in place and untouched. The loading gate door is unmarked. Yes, you can also load the tube magazine directly. However the rest of the gun suggests little use at all to date.

Stock offers a pull length at 13 ¾” (350mm) and brings in an overall 35 ¾” (910mm) gun. Tipping scales at 6 Lbs 5 oz (2.863 Kg).

Deep Dark American Walnut Woodwork with the ‘Trade Mark’ Diamond Pattern Skip / Fox Cut Chequering. That is as crisp as the day it left America for these shores with a Strong Straight Grain Pattern. Ready there is next to zero sign of much use at all so far. The ONLY thing of mention are a few light ‘arc’ marks to original blue finish on the right hand side of the hammer. Everywhere else is in almost untouched order. Absolute zero swagger on the Lever Handle too.

Cross Action Safety so easily operated from either hand and a Straight Hand stock so completely Ambidextrous. ….Other than spent cases ejecting to the right etc. You also have hammer at half cock safe too. Either or both can be engaged at the same time.

An EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN example of THE most sought after Pistol Calibre Range gun / rifle. I also AGREE with most out there: These Pre-Remington involvement rifles are FAR SUPERIOR to even the new ‘good’ versions being imported. As such mini investments in their own rights. IF you doubt that just do some research and see what money REAL vintage examples fetch. That’s from ANY and ALL of the US brands. Some make your eyes water! Given TRUE original guns are no longer possibilities it stands to reason they WILL become even more sought after.
