Description

BROWNING CITORI 12G OVER AND UNDER SPORTER SHOTGUN.

Excellent Condition 12g Sporting Over and Under Citori model Shotgun from Browning. 30” (760mm) Invector Multi Choke Barrels with standard 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers. The Ventilated ½” (12mm) Rib Matt Finish Cross Cut to each side 1/3 and Full Length Sighting Line to the middle. Then a Pair of White Beads to check / line up for a perfect mounting position.

Stock sits at 14 ½” (365mm) with the Adjustable Trigger currently set in Mid-position. As such, circa 3/8 – ½” (9 – 12mm) of adjustment +/_ plus / minus either way. Overall the gun sits at 47 ¼” (1200mm) and tips the scales at 7 Lbs 10 oz (3.457 Kg).

Considering date codes detail this gun from 1987 it’s in RIDICULOUSLY Good Condition. Blatantly obvious its done all of SOD ALL in the last FAST approaching FOUR DECADES!

A Bright finished Action with near Full Engraving all over. A pair of Mallard Ducks ‘dropping in’ to the Right Face. Matching Surrounding Scroll Work to the top and bottom. Finishing with a pair of Flushed Grouse to the Left.

Chequering is all still Very clean all over. A few VERY light superficial marks to the rest of the woodwork. Any and all will lift back out with little more than the steam from a decent cuppa! Some ‘Half Decent’ Grain Pattern too with Reasonably Good Colour Contrast. Semi-Schnable Style Forend finishing things off.

This has seen LITTLE ‘daylight’ since Brand New. Check out the Top Lever Position. Its STILL WELL over to the right when the gun / action is closed tight. NEVER generally takes long for everything to ‘settle in’ and this centre up into its final resting position. EVERY possible pointer or ‘tell-tale’ sign simply confirms the gun has so far done near zero shooting to date. MANY would and do also consider these older guns WAY superior to their current day counterparts. I’ll leave that decision to you. IF you want me order in Brand New then I can easily do that for you too.

As for the Lead Sh-t ‘FIASCO’? READ ON:

THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

Anyway, take a look for yourself:

NOW, to TRY and help speed up availability I WILL also suggest that YOU pass on details to everyone you know who shoots. Then ALL of us start to ask whoever we buy from why they are not DEMANDING cartridges made in this material? Basically VOTE with your WALLET.

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!

On that note I AM looking into the possibility of stocking some direct from Steve at Hortons.                                                     RING for an update and keep checking the web site.
